the b kinder walk
What is the walk for a kinder world about?
Walk for a kinder world is about pledging to be kind and taking action at the same time. This is about spreading kindness to put an end to bullying, loneliness, mental health issues and suicide. Join us and the growing communities that are coming together and taking the “pledge to be kind”.
Make a difference at home, in your workplace and at school with the annual “walk for a kinder world” event held on World Kindness Day, 13th November. (This can also be held on a day that is convenient for you).
How far do I walk?
Your walk could be a walk down your garden path, a walk around the playground, a hike through the bush, a stroll through the city or a run along the beach. You could even get family and friends to join you or set up a team in your workplace.
Are there other things I should be doing on my walk?
While you are on your walk you could help spread kindness.
• You could write and then leave a kindness card in someone’s postbox.
• You could purchase some sunflowers and then hand them to strangers as you walk.
• You could give compliments to strangers as you pass them by.
• You could Just smile at someone to make their day.
Where can I walk?
You can walk anywhere you would like to as long as you adhere to all local rules and guidelines.
There are walks being organised in Hobart (Tasmania), Gold Coast (Queensland), The Whitsundays (Queensland) and Brisbane (Queensland). If you would like to participate in any of these walks, contact the b kinder team at: info@bkinderfoundation.org.

where will my donations go
What will my donation be used for?
Your donation will go towards providing our evidence-based programs and wellbeing resources to children and young people. Through early intervention, these unique, positive programs and resources initiate discussions surrounding emotions that can be difficult for the young to communicate and empower children with a tool set of skills and strategies to help them develop an enriched sense of wellbeing, belonging and self-esteem. Our four b kinder workbooks are aimed at children in their pivotal years, 3yr - 13yrs. Data shows that these resources are having a substantial impact and are helping to reduce mental health issues, bullying and suicide.

fitness tips
How do I get the most from my walk?
Walking is a low impact way to get fit but before you commence any exercise, please ensure that you get advice from a doctor and /or fitness instructor. It is imperative that any walk you undertake is done safely.
Since the Covid 19 epidemic, it is essential that you follow the current federal, state and local government guidelines when exercising in public places. You may want to wear a face-covering (mask). It would be advisable to carry hand sanitisers with you and don’t forget to take your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
If you are walking in public spaces, please ensure you are fit and well and if you do happen to cough or sneeze, remember to use your elbow and cover your mouth.
Have fun
The walk for a kinder world is about taking action and pledging to be kind. We would love for everyone to think of others and spread kindness as well as have fun while they walk.
Warm-up
Even if you have a short walk planned, it is important to always stretch and warm up to avoid injury. If you are walking long distances, ensure you have drinks to stay hydrated and snacks to keep your energy levels up.
Make a difference
Everybody has the power to make a difference through kindness. Your pledge is about taking action, coming together with others and taking a stand to make the world a kinder place. Along with your pledge, your walk and donation are helping to promote empathy, kindness, and compassion to reduce mental health issues, bullying and suicide in children and young people. Should you choose to make an additional donation, your monies will go towards providing our unique, positive, evidence-based wellbeing resources to children in primary schools.
